A few buddies and I are looking into a surf trip and want to stay at Mustang Island State Park, instead of the hotels we usually stay at in Corpus. Usually surf at Packery or BH Pier. Any good sand bars, breaks there, and any advice on the facilities. We plan on staying with one that has elect. & water. Peace!!!

Yeah Mustang Island State Park (located near fish pass) is OK.

It is kinda run down.

It has pads with water and 110

Security, a no drive beach for the kiddos and first aid. Its 15 min to a couple of stores where you can get some grocerys.

For some reason the water is a little cleaner there. Just north are two groins that have bars coming off both ends. Depending on tide,and swell direction size etc, It can be pretty good.
