Port Mansfield is still firing after some recent dredging. We scored some excellent surf yesterday with the minimum swell. pics up on www.surfingtheisland.com

Were you able to camp on the beach or was the tide coming all the way to the Dune line ?

tons of sand, beach, and room to camp. we just went really early and left late afternoon. good driving overall. still need 4x4 though. In the photo above, the sand in the foreground drops about 6 or 7 feet straight down to where the tide comes to.

Curious... how long did it take you to drive down there from CC ? I have gone the other route, years (eons actually) ago and taken a boat from the Port M launch out to the spot but have never driven. thanks.

around a couple of hours. The morning had thick fog and took a little longer. The drive back took a little less.
