| I'm in SA too. There's a few of us around. We should all just do a caravan down to the coast one weekend. Just off the top of my head, I can think of three others who would be willing with a couple of days notice. | |

| Maybe time for a fifth Surfrider Chapter? Our Coastal Bend Chapter will help you get started. I think the other Texas chapters would do the same. | |

| Here's an idea...since there seems to be at least a dozen of us in and around San Antonio, maybe we can get together some time, (restaurant, park, etc.), and plan a coastal trip or explore the possibility of forming a new Surfrider chapter. Hell...I'm up for just starting a land-locked surf club. Anything to keep our minds off this nasty winter weather and keep the stoke going. George in far north SA | |

| George, Lived close to the water all my life. Surfed(Maine to Morocco), kayaked(long distance) and windsurfed( Fla./Maui). Till I fell in love with a Texas girl. Now I'm in San Antonio. Been here 2 years and tho I love the place, I've NEVER had to drive longer than 1/2 hour to get wet. That 2+ hr. roadtrip to Port A. just kills me, but I guess thats better than when I had to drive from Dallas. I'm on the NW side of SA., Leon Springs/Boerne stage road. Now, I'm just a old school longboarder but If any SA longboarders would like to get in touch, contact me @ eefrench@hotmail.com. Happy trails, Saltydog | |

| Glad to meet you, Saltydog. I grew up in Corpus Christi and surfed up and down the lower Texas coast back in my high school days. Haven't been on a board for almost 30 years. Last summer a buddy of mine started talking about all of his surfing adventures, (Baja, New Zealand, the entire west coast, etc.), and it rekindled the old flame. This past Christmas I bought myself a new 8'6'' epoxy log, (only a longboard is gonna float my fat a$$), and I'm dying to get it wet. Of course, after all these years I'm sure my first few attempts will have kook written all over it. But what the hell? At my age, (pushing 50), I'm just looking for a little old school fun on my board. No attitude, no competition, no BS...just fun. Hopefully our paths will cross someday. | Hey guy I feel your pain, I grew up in Melbourne beach Florida. The last day of my 10th grade at Melbourne high my father tells me we are moving to San Antonio, Texas I'm like where the F%$k is that!!! Not good for a beach kid-- but ended up living there for 4 years, I was Port A bound even for knee high slop crap even weekend I graduated from Churchill High on Blanco Rd, my parents and sister still live in that area. Usually out that way a couple times a year and still have surfin buddies that live on the northside. Here's my Florida web site--enjoy http://www.thewavecaster.comTip | |
