NOONISH...
I SURFED EARLIER THIS MORNING...DOWN THE BEACH..THIGH TO "MAYBE" WAIST HIGH PEAKS...FUN ON A LONGBOARD...
WE MAY GET STIFFED ON THIS SWELL...AS SOUTH PADRE IS GETTING IT GOOD RIGHT NOW...
MAY SEE SOMETHING THIS AFTERNOON..I WILL CHECK SURF AROUND 1 OR SO TODAY..AND AGAIN AROUND 3....
HOPE FOR THE WEEKEND...SUNDAY MAY END UP BEING THE BIGGER DAY
6:00 A.M.
there is surf. i will give you better info once it is light outside
keep in mind there is quite a bit of east in the swell...so if you look at the cam you will see one thing...waves look/sound bigger down the beach
i cannot see well yet as it is dark outside.
i can hear the waves and see some of the waves and white water.
surf is bigger than yesterday.
i would say it is thigh high...and some a little bigger.
this surf is preceeding the low coming off of florida..and the surf today is a completely different swell than the one coming..
offshore bouys are around 4 feet...and showing as of last night...surf should be fun most of, if not all day...
ill update once it is light
the surf also is not intense..it is pretty mellow, so i would recommend longboards and or fun shapes..
the swell that is here is NOT part of the low that is crossing over florida and into the gulf right now. that system will most likely develop some today and send another swell our way arriving saturday and sunday..> IF it develops today we will have a good swell for both weekend days..
also another blob is possibly coming up from the carribean/yucatan, that may ad to our swell conditions..
it is not recommended that you surf within 100 yards of any jetty or pier due to dangerous currents.
