Super JT I really appreciate the service you provide and all you do. No buts. Would you consider to : Please put the cam back on the Pier Shot if possible. There are so many of us who like the detail of the pier shot. I understand the points that it does not show what it is like down the beach, BUT it does show how CLEAN it is. Thanks

| First the quality of the surf report itself is not what it used to be, and now the camara shot of the western view of the beach!?!?! Love the afternoon glare. Makes it sooo easy to read the surf. Please readjust back to the pier. It's a lot easier to judge size/quality when you have a stationary object, like a pier pole, to judge with.Easterly swell? It does'nt take too much experience to figure out that the surf will be bigger the farther west you go. When I pull up your site for a wave report I used to get intelligent feedback, now, it's turned into the Spicolli Report. But your the only game in town for those of us so far away that we relie on the net for our info. Please, get back to adult reporting and MOVE THAT D_MN CAMARA!!!! | |

i dont know who you are nor do i know EXACTLY what you are talking about... but i live here..i have a wife and 5 kids..and i have 2 JOBS,, there are times when i am traveling and cannot give a report at all other times..i am EXTREMTLY busy and or rushed.. i also update the report as much as humanly possible.. REFFERING TO SPICOLLI>> I DO NOT SMOKE POT EVER... NOR DO I DRINK DURING THE WORK DAY...RARELY AT ALL AS A MATTER OF FACT. I AM LUCKY TO GET ANY REPORT AT ALL POSTED MOST DAYS..AND I UPDATE SOME DAYS..3 TIMES A DAY.. IT IS A REPORT... I WILL REFRAIN THE BEST I CAN FROM > ANY FORECASTING WHATSOEVER AND GIVE STRICTLY A REPORT BASED ON WHAT I SEE.. AFTER 32 YEARS OF SURFING... I AM CONSERVATIVE MOST OF THE TIME SO YOU DONT HAVE TO DRIVE A LONG DISTANCE ONLY TO BE LET DOWN..AS CONDITIONS CHANGE CONSTANTLY AND I AM NOT GONNA ATTEMPT TO PLAY GOD. I SHOULDNT HAVE TO DEFEND MYSELF.. BUT IF YOU WANNA ATTACK..THEN DONT READ THE REPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST DEPEND ON NOAA AND THE CAM AND SEE HOW THAT WORKS!! BY THE WAY..WE DO NOT OPERATE THE CAMERA..WE DONT OWN THE CAMERA..IT IS A GUY IN CORPUS | |

| Dude, i'll say it for ya Chris, quit bein a douchebag saltydog. Chris works really hard and is an awesome person and family man. Give him a break. Often he plays the forecast down so you guys who drive from far away aren't too disappointed when you get there. I use to be one of those guys and use to and still often do check Chris's report, but I also use thirdcoastsurf, magicseaweed(now that's a Spicolli report), windguru, wavewatch, and similar sites as well to figure out if I'm gonna go or not and that's being 25 minutes from the beach rather than the 3 hours I used to. Heck, sometimes I use to not check anything at all and leave it to chance, drive down, bring a fishing pole or two, a surfboard or two, and see what the Good Lord gave me rather than relying on all these tools and people. The beach is a beautiful thing, and if there is surf, thats cool, but I personally do not just go for the waves. Its the community, the family and friends you are with, the sand between the toes, the sound of waves breaking weather they be 1 foot or 10 foot, and just the whole experience while you are there. Just enjoy it saltydog. A couple years ago there was no surf report. It is just a privelege that Chris takes time from his busy life to drive down there and give his honest opinion on what he sees as far as wave size and quality. As far as the cam goes, I'm sure the guy will adjust it soon once he figures its outta wack. I don't think that is an intended location for it. | |

| Well put Justin! It is a SERVICE that is provided along with all of the other INFORMATION sites that you listed. It's just a small piece of the puzzle that is the Gulf of Mex. If you can't be nice to folks trying to help you get a picture as to what's happening, you may want to save your attitude and head down to Bob Hall. They deal with that vibe down there more often...we don't. Here's their report link: http://coastalsurfing.com/wp-content/themes/revolution_pro-30/surfreport.phpSometimes it's even updated by noon. Hope that helps you mellow out a bit bro. | |

| Isn't it amazing how a bad attitude can reveal itself when you are deprived of something that you rely so heavily on.....like the webcam. Personally, I like Justinxray's attitude because it's an attitude that is reflective of what life was like before we had computers or webcams. When a person took a trip to the beach it was a chance to get away from the daily grind and enjoy nature as it was intended to be. If the surf was bad, the fishing might be on. If both the surf and the fishing were bad, it's time to make sandcastles with the kids. Life is to be enjoyed with no assurances that the waves will be to your liking. Now, if you still want to be mad at Chris for going out of his way to give a decent visual surf report, that's okay. However, be ready to throw down because there are more than a few people who will stand up for Chris, who's a stand up guy. | |
