| Great Weekend!! Very cool to meet Robert. My daughter was jealous of her brother getting an autograph until she had her picture taken on the beach with Robert.
I asked Robert when he started shaping boards and he said somewhere in the vicinity of 1965. He said that last week he shaped his 31,000th board (where he actually shaped it himself, not just his name on it). I'll try to get the pictures to you on Tuesday from the surf lessons.

Good to meet you on the beach Saturday, Rusty. My kids were impressed with the Texas Flag board. Hope you had as good a time as we did. It was cool to meet Robert and get an autograph.

| It was all good. The best part was that we were blessed with some nice waves. And by the looks of the webcam today, it happened just at the right time. I'm not sure that anyone was aware, but one of the guys that won the surf lesson with Robert was a good friend of mine who had only surfed for the first time on Saturday. Needless to say, he and his boys are hooked.

| Thanks for the compliment, both of you. One of the coolest things to happen was when I was coming out of the water two weeks ago. Dan, from the Texas Surf Museum was raving about my board and was even more impressed that I had made it myself. He took a couple of photos of it and wants to put them in the museum (very cool). I would have never thought that that log I put together was museum-worthy but the Texas flag sure is. Hopefully, the next Battleship Texas that I make has better rails on it. This one turns like a tanker. | |
