Each day your cam gets approximately 100 hits from individuals attempting to obtain detailed information on the conditions at the beach.
The new positioning of the camera is horrible. Not only does it lack detail, it is very distasteful. I doubt someone would be pleased to look at Port o Potties and the vagrants whom take up camp next to them from a Dunes Condo Balcony. This might deter sales. I doubt someone would like to bring their family within proximity to those living on the beach. This too might effect rentals.
The original cam position showed the surf and beach tidal conditions.
PLEASE PUT IT BACK PLEASE ...!

actually what would work better is 1 long time local(i.e. established member of the surf & chamber community) not just a local surf rat(not meaning you) would work better... maybe even 1out of state but having longtime ties to home can help this)- i'll put in my .02

here is the response from the Dunes
The GM has chosen to move the camera to get the beach & the water. I can only say that there may be something in the works to move it to the channel or a company may be adding a camera onto our building. The Dunes camera was never intended to be used as a surf cam.

They are right that the cam was never intended to be specifically a surf cam but it was intended for surfers to use. I understand what their target market consist of and it probably doesn't include all that many surfers. But, as Port A Surf Co suggested, the pier adds value to the condos and as I suggested their are plenty of other reasons not to point the cam south.
This problem started when the motorized zoom lens toasted. It stayed zoomed all the way in. Adolfo
